The testimonies from the archeological site of the Castro do Monte da Guilheta, fortified settlement of the Iron Age, located in the Monte de Moldes, are exposed in one of the rooms of the Parish of Castelo do Neiva.
The well-known estate is rich and varied and includes, besides the usual ceramic fragments of the Roman, Castro and Medieval times, many other elements of which are notable for their rarity, helmets and bronze cups appeared with the earthworks for the construction of a house at the foot of the settlement, as well as some period coins of the emperor Augustus, which suggest that it was around the turn of the Age, between the 1st and 1st centuries BC. I d.C., that the village knew its apogee, not knowing, however, the precise date of the end of the Roman occupation of the place.
